The Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVCS), through Ministerial Resolution 358-2021-VIVIENDA, modified the conditions and requirements for admission and technical evaluation of applications for financing of sanitation projects. With this, regional governments, municipalities and sanitation service providers (EPS) will be able to apply directly to the MVCS for financing for sanitation projects. With this new regulation, MVCS programs are expected to evaluate a greater number of applications to the eligibility and technical evaluation processes, among others, eliminating duplication of functions, addressing the problem of paralyzed works and ordering investments with the objective of benefiting the population without access to sanitation services. Along these lines, MVCS also plans to amend m Ministerial Resolution 013-2020-VIVIENDA, with the aim of improving the prioritization criteria of the investment portfolio for application at the three levels of government in accordance with the provisions of Ministerial Resolution 358-2021-VIVIENDA.
