SUNASS PREPARES TWO REGULATIONS TO PROMOTE THE SANITATION DERIVATIVE SERVICES MARKET
The National Superintendence of Sanitation Services (Sunass) is developing two pilot regulatory projects related to the promotion of services derived from sanitation services and the closing of gaps in micro-measurement. The first regulatory proposal will help reduce the gap in access to the sanitation services market, especially wastewater. It will allow service providers (SPs) to have the necessary conditions to be able to offer their wastewater to the different users who are interested in it. The second project, which refers to the improvement of micro-measurement levels, seeks to develop incentives that will allow utilities to close the micro-measurement gap and comply with the periodic verification of meters as part of their operational control. This will allow users to make a fair payment for the service and the PEs to have more information for the calculation of drinking water tariffs. Sunass has established to culminate these regulatory proposals in the first quarter of 2022.
